Hey you, lets check out that verse, Deuteronomy 4:9 again.
This time, focusing on the next few parts of the verse, which is in bold below. (I typed out the entire verse for us so that we can soak it in. After all, we learn by way of repetition. (I guess that’s why we tend to go through some of the same things over and over…..squirrel))
Deuteronomy 4:9 “Only give heed to yourself and keep your soul diligently, so that you do not forget the things which your eyes have seen and they do not depart from your heart all the days of your life; but make them known to your sons and grandsons.”
“Keep your soul diligently, so that you do not forget the things which your eyes have seen and they do not depart from your heart all the days of your life..”
We are instructed to Keep our soul diligently. To be purposeful, intentional, to keep watch and to treasure up (in memory). Why? SO THAT we don’t forget the things which our eyes have seen, that they do not depart from our hearts all the days of our life.
- Are there things that your eyes have seen that you may have forgotten due to your circumstances which seem to be screaming at you right now?
- Are there dreams that the Lord Himself has placed in your heart that you seem to forget because you have no idea how its going to come to past? Its something that just makes no sense.
- Has the Lord told you that your family will be a united front, yet you find yourself more like a referee each day, rather than a prayer partner?
- Has the Lord told you to start something or pay something that you just can’t seem to find the resources for?
Friend, if we’ve experienced (heard or seen) just ONE encounter (experience, blessing, favor) with the Almighty God, than we’ve experienced God. And if we’ve experienced God, than we MUST keep our soul diligently. We cannot forget what He’s told us or what He’s showed us. No we cannot!!
Our God is faithful. He grows what He plants, nourishes those He feeds and He finishes what He starts!!!
He’s NOT done with you yet…. so you BETTER NOT be done with yourself.
I find it so hard to tear myself away from this post without leaving you with some additional scriptures for you to dive into. Be blessed by them.
