No one wanted to change!

, , , ,

Yes, I’m still here 🙂 And I have ABSOLUTELY missed you terribly!!! I pray that you are all doing well!!

And if not… I pray that this will get you to start thinking.

This past  week I had the opportunity to meet with a friend from church that I was partnering with on an up-coming project.  While I had “business” in mind, the Lord would take me one step further.

After we discussed logistics and the dynamics of this project, we actually had some time to just chat. Although I was a bit resistance, I followed the Spirits nudge (YAY- I’m feeling them again.. or I’m actually listening AND obeying). One of the things that I learned about her is that she has a masters in psychology – wow! (immediately I thought, “oh crap, is she trying to read me now!? hahahaha. Yep, I did!) I was intrigued and thought, “why didn’t I know this”. After all, she’s currently working in a field which has nothing to do with counseling or therapy (technically). Anywho, after a few, I asked, “why aren’t you doing that anymore”. She shared something that I had to actually repeat back to her out loud and Its something that has STUCK in my head.
What was it? She said that, while she began enthusiastically with the desire to help people, she would quickly find that thread of similarity in every single case. No one wanted to change! She had the tools and the instructions on how to apply them, but no one would ever take her up on it (so to speak). No matter how much she cared for them and cried for them, people just didn’t want to change – which like I said, was the majority of all her patients.
Now, while we too may realize or “know” this simple yet profound statement, God used it in a profound way!!
As I dance with sin, or should I say, “as I CHOOSE to dance with sin”, may I realize that its a choice. A choice that say’s, “you don’t really want to change”.
Girls, my prayer is, that this too would speak to your hearts as it has mine. Our God gives us the tools – will we take Him at His word and use them – apply them?
I absolutely love you girls – BIG TIME!!
John 5:6 say’s “When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”
Do you want to get well?

You do You!!

By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the One who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence. 2 Peter 1:3

We tend to spend too much time either wishing we had someone else’s life or spiritual gifts or we spend too much time judging someone else’s life or spiritual gifts.

God has given EACH of us everything we need. He shows no favoritism (Acts 10:34). Lets stop wasting our time by either hating others, for doing those things that are so easy not to do or hating ourselves for the fruit that we ‘bare’ (or lack thereof).

You do You!!

God has a plan for YOU. A plan that’s specific for YOU. A plan that’s YOURS for the taking.

YOU DO YOU sweet friend and walk in what God has ALREADY given you!

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed; 2 Corinthians 9:8

1 Thessalonians 3:5

For this reason, when I could endure it no longer, I also sent to find out about your faith, for fear that the tempter might have tempted you, and our labor would be in vain,

I love the book of 1st & 2nd Thessalonians. Its straight up, in your face encouragement for me and how we are to care for one another as believers in Christ!!

Paul sends someone to find out about the faith of his fellow brethren. He doens’t want them to forget what they’ve been called to – but he wants to remind them, and encourage them.

I’d like to encourage YOU my friend!!! Don’t forget that you have a God that is absolutely CRAZY about you and has a plan for your life. He loves you with an everlasting LOVE… and He loves you way TOO much to leave you as is.

HUGE ((((HUG)))))

This is it!

Talk about a break…… Its exactly two months since my last post 😮 Is anyone out here? “Is this thing one?”

To whomever is still hanging in – I just want to ((hug)) your neck for your grace and mercy. I have thought about you and this little neck of the woods so much MORE than you know – trust me!!!

Needless to say, I may have been “knocked” down, but definitely NOT out. Two steps forward, three steps back……. or vise versa :p

Anywho, today is day 25 of a 30 day challenge my Pastor “challenged” us with in order to read through the gospel in 30 days. The section of passage for today was John 5-7 and I almost got knocked off my chair as I came across this verse:

Therefore they said to Him, “What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God! Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent“. John 5:28,29

Why did I almost get knocked off my chair you ask. Well because I’ve doing a lot of “working” instead of BElievING!

I had forgotten the heart behind this blog.

  • It was never meant to overwhelm me as much as it has (only because I was the one doing the “work” – or at least that’s how I felt).
  • It was never meant to shift my focus from just sharing my heart along with my experiences and how God graciously uses this jacked up sister in spite of herself  – to an being more consumed than I care to admit about what people think or what people are saying or how much feedback I get.

You see, The work of God is that I believe in him whom He sent – period. If I received confirmation about this blog, then I’m to do it no matter what. Even if or when It doesn’t make sense. Even if or when it feels like no one is benefiting – after all, am I more worried about the praise of man that the praise of my Lord? Ouch!

Thought to ponder: “Do we believe Jesus for our eternity, yet doubt Him in our day-today??

Happy Valentine’s Day Sweet Friend.  🙂

HUGE ((((hug))))!!

Be Still

, , , ,

be-still1Yeah right… Be still!? Now… at this time of year – with so much on my plate. Shopping, wrapping, decorating, parties to go to and parties to host, family from out of town……

Be still?

Yes, Be Still my friend. May the “hustle & bustle” of this time of year not cloud your perspective (or God’s perspective).

Psalm 46:10 (NIV) say’s He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

He, God, say’s that He will be exalted. Not Macy’s, JcPenney’s, American Eagle, Crab Tree & Evelyn, Black & White, Bloomingdales, Walmart, Target, Credit cards, Busyness…

He will be exalted and we can Be Still!

I love how the NASB puts it: “Cease striving and know that I am God;…”

I feel like the Lord spoke to me directly when I read that version… He’s like; “Girl, stop! This busyness is NOT what this time of year is about”.

Don’t you just love how personal our God is?

Check out the HCSB version: “Stop your fighting and know that I am God;…”.

“Stop your fighting..” The Lord just cracks me up!! I absolutely love how VERY practical and intentional He is! He continues to blow me away!!

Friends, Be Still!! Enjoy each moment of the rest of this year. The years are made up of moments. The years pass us by, but the moments have the ability to captivate us!

Love you sweet friend!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

To the praise of His glory,

Glo 😉

Happy Thanksgiving

, , ,

thanksgiving-charlie-brown-snoopyHappy Thanksgiving my sweet Friends!!

Can I just tell you? I absolutely LOVE Thanksgiving. First and foremost because its surrounded by family. Secondly, its the “official” (in my book) kick off to the Christmas season 🙂 I just love it!! And if I could just share a little bit of my craziness…. I honestly feel like there should be some kind of rule for decorating. The rule would be that no one is “allowed” to decorate for Christmas until the day after thanksgiving. I really feel like we “forget” about thanksgiving if we have Christmas decorations all over. It just breaks my heart for thanksgiving and all those beautiful fall decorations. Hello!?!? You know what I mean? :p

Haahahah… I love you sweet friend!! I pray that this day is filled with tons of family, loads of laughs and tears of joy!!

Be Blessed Brothers & Sisters!!

To the praise of His glory,

Glo 😉

Am I the only one?

, , ,

Oh boy… Here we go again… A “sight” delay in our communication.. Oops..

I feel like I could just “spew” out all the why’s and all the distractions, but I’ll spare you (and me) that and ask for some grace and mercy. Is that cool with you?

I’m so blessed by you!! Although we don’t chat often, I am thinking of you constantly!! I think about how very much we may have in common; busyness, distractions, crazy families, loneliness, tears, joy, laughter, hysteria, and every emotion/life circumstance that comes in between (I hope this is still sparing you and I, hahahhaha).

Have you ever felt as if you were the only one going through a particular something or even thinking a certain way on a particular something? Have you ever stood and looked around and said:

  • “Am I the only one that sees something wrong with this picture”?
  • “Am I the only one dealing with this rebellious teen”?
  • “Am I the only one dealing with this family drama?
  • Am I the only one……….?

It’s a terrible feeling. That feeling that you’re all alone in something.

Although the enemy of our souls would like us to believe and feel all alone; My Dear Friend, I am here to tell you that we are most definitely NOT alone!!!  We have more company in our situations that you can imagine. And moreover, we have plenty in our same situations that have walked THROUGH by the grace of God. They’re out there – trust me!!!

For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.” Hebrew 4:15

Not only do we have people amongst us, we have our High Priest who sympathizes like NO ONE else – Amen!!

I love you sweetie pies!!!

You are NOT the only one and you are NOT alone!!!

Praise You Father!!!

Thank You Father that you are but a breathe away from Your children… Thank You Father that You bore our shame so we wouldn’t have to… Thank You Father for the grace that You have lavished on us… Thank You Father that we can come boldly before Your throne with the expectation of pure acceptance… Thank You Father that we can throw off that thing or things that hinder us… Thank You Father that NONE of this life is about US… NONE of it… NONE!!! Thank You!!!

, , ,

Hey Ya’ll… Yep.. I’m kinda feelin like its a boot wearing, cowgirl hat sporting kind of day.. hahahaha..

Seriously though… I really do love ya’ll (you all).

Anywho… I was thinking of you – yeah YOU – when I came across the picture below. I began to wonder how many of us have received our personal vision statement from God at one point and are walking it out. Or, how many have received that vision statement and because of circumstances (life), have allowed that vision to get blurred or even misplaced.

My friend, take heart, because that vision that God Himself gave you is NOT dependent upon YOU… Oh NO. It’s totally dependent on Him. He is able!!

Philippians 1:6 say’s, For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. (emphasis mine)

Now, that does not mean that we’re to stay still or stuck. That means that we, ..”let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,” (Hebrews 12:1)

Sweet friend… Recall that Vision statement for your life, lay it at His feet and believe that He IS able!!!

Vision Statement

Yep.. Its been a while.. A long while (yet again).

Life. Time. Priorities. Distractions.

Although I’ve been “away”, I have not stopped thinking about you. I have not stopped praying for you to be encouraged.

I love you with the love of the Lord sweet friend. And while people may be inconsistent, unfaithful & ever-changing; know that The Lord is NOT.

Malachi 3:6 “I the LORD do not change…”

Psalm 36:5 “Lord, your constant love reaches the heavens; your faithfulness reaches the skies.”

Hebrews 7:25 “….. He always lives to make intercession for them”

With all that is within me I will praise the Lord. I will not hang my head low. I choose to stand erect in confidence….. Not because of anything that I could ever do or say… But in the Confidence that He who saved me is faithful. He will complete what He’s started in me [and in you].

He ALWAYS makes intercession for US! AMEN!!
